Lieutenant-Colonel FitzRoy James Henry Somerset, 1st Baron Raglan, GCB

Appointed as an Aide de camp to Wellington in 1808 he continued to serve Wellington until after the battle of Waterloo when he was appointed Aide to Prince Regent.

In 1814 he married a daughter of Wellington’s brother, thus making a relative to the duke of Wellington.

He was wounded at the battle of Waterloo, so badly they had to amputate his arm. He continued to serve the British army non the less, al the way into the Crimean war as a general.

Lord FitzRoy Somerset after the battle of Waterloo, note his right arm is missing.
